Mirrors Australia: Round, Arched, Gold & Floor Mirrors

A mirror does more than reflect. It bounces light around a room, makes a small space feel larger, and can be as much a piece of art as anything else on your walls.

Our mirrors include oversized round mirrors, arched and oval designs, ornate antique gold frames, sculptural iron and leather-framed pieces, and full-length floor mirrors. This guide covers sizes, shapes, frames, where to hang them, safe installation and care, using the real measurements of every mirror in our range.

Mirror Sizes at a Glance

  • Compact (55 to 91cm wide): Seville (55 × 114cm), Lucille (61 × 90.5cm), Avanti (74 × 120cm), Athens Wall (76 × 150cm), Allegro Wall (80 × 100cm) and Icarus (91 × 91cm).

Round mirrors

A round mirror softens straight lines and suits entries, living rooms and above consoles and buffets.

  • Birchgrove: an oversized 120cm round in satin Black or White, our largest round.
  • Esme: a bold 105cm iron frame with oversized egg-shaped beading, in Gold Leaf or Black.
  • Davos: a hand-forged iron frame with sculptural texture, 101.5cm round in matte White or Black.
  • Ella: a wave-design frame in hand-rubbed antique gold, as a 100cm round or a 101cm square.
  • Corfu: a textured, coastal frame (108.5 × 102cm) with a bevelled mirror, in White or Black.

Arched and oval mirrors

  • Allegro: a classic arch in Gold Leaf or Black (80 × 100cm), and as a 219cm-tall gold leaf floor mirror.
  • Lucille: a simple, elegant gold leaf oval (61 × 90.5cm) that hangs vertically or horizontally.
  • Seville: a slender white oval with a delicate feather motif (55 × 114cm), lovely in coastal and Hamptons rooms.
  • Athens: a curved rectangle framed in 100% top grain leather, as a wall mirror (76 × 150cm) or floor mirror (90 × 200cm).

Rectangular and statement mirrors

  • Zena: an ornate antique gold frame with a bevelled mirror (90 × 120cm) that hangs either way, our most classic piece.
  • Avanti: a geometric antique gold frame with linear detailing (74 × 120cm), with Art Deco glamour.
  • Tasman: an organic, hand-crafted gold leaf frame (120 × 100cm) for an entry or living room.
  • York: an organically shaped, textured iron frame in electroplated gold (98 × 80cm).
  • Davos rectangle: the hand-forged frame as a landscape mirror (115 × 74cm) in matte White or Black, ideal above a console.
  • Icarus: a clean-lined 91cm square in Black or Silver.

Floor mirrors

A full-length mirror is a dressing essential, and it doubles a room's light. Ours include the arched Birchgrove Floor in White (105 × 197cm), the slim iron Jasper (72.5 × 202cm), the fir wood and metal Appin in Natural or White (108 × 186cm), the leather-framed Athens and the 219cm Allegro in gold leaf. Choosing a Mirror

Which shape should I choose?

  • Round: softens a room full of straight lines. Great above a rectangular console or buffet.
  • Arched: adds height and architectural elegance, like a window in the wall.
  • Oval: graceful and classic. Suits a narrow wall, a powder room or a dressing table.
  • Rectangular: the most versatile. Hang it landscape above a sofa or console, or portrait in a hallway.
  • Organic and sculptural: an irregular frame like the Tasman or York becomes wall art in its own right.

What size mirror do I need?

Above furniture, choose a mirror about two-thirds to three-quarters the width of the piece below. A 100 to 120cm round suits a 150 to 180cm console or buffet, and a 60 to 80cm mirror suits a 90 to 120cm console. On a bare wall, think big: an oversized mirror makes a stronger statement than a small one floating in space.

Which frame finish suits my home?

  • Gold leaf and antique gold: warm and glamorous. Perfect with marble, velvet and Hollywood Regency or Art Deco interiors. See our gold mirrors.
  • Black: crisp and contemporary, and adds definition to pale walls.
  • White: fresh and coastal. It blends into white walls so the reflection does the work.
  • Natural timber and leather: warm, tactile and relaxed, from the Appin's fir wood to the Athens's top grain leather.
  • Silver: cool and modern, beautiful with grey, black and chrome.

Bevelled or flat glass?

A bevelled edge, as on the Zena, Corfu, Seville, Athens, Appin and Davos rectangle, catches the light and adds a classic, finished look. Flat glass, as on the Icarus, Jasper, York and Birchgrove Floor, feels cleaner and more contemporary.

Where to Hang a Mirror

  • Entry and hallway: a round or arched mirror above a console table for a last-minute check and a brighter welcome.
  • Living room: above the sofa or fireplace, or opposite a window to bounce natural light into the room.
  • Dining room: above a buffet to reflect candlelight and the chandelier.
  • Bedroom: a floor mirror in a corner, or a pair of smaller mirrors above bedside tables.
  • Small rooms: the biggest mirror the wall allows makes the room feel twice the size.

How high should I hang a mirror?

On an open wall, hang it with the centre at about 150 to 160cm from the floor, which is eye level. Above a console, buffet or sofa, leave a 15 to 25cm gap between the furniture and the bottom of the frame so they read as one arrangement.

What should a mirror reflect?

Something worth seeing twice: a window, a chandelier, artwork or greenery. Avoid hanging a mirror where it reflects a cluttered corner, or directly opposite a TV.

Installing Your Mirror Safely

  • Check the weight on the product page. Our mirrors range from about 5.5kg to 42kg.
  • Fix heavier mirrors into a wall stud, or use heavy-duty plasterboard or masonry anchors rated well above the mirror's weight.
  • Most of our wall mirrors have fixed hooks on the back, and many can hang vertically or horizontally.
  • Safety anchors are included with many of our mirrors, including the Allegro, Athens, Appin, Jasper and York. Always use them.
  • Floor mirrors should always be anchored to the wall to stop them tipping, especially in homes with children or pets.
  • Lift and hang large mirrors with two people.

Mirror Care

  • Glass: spray glass cleaner onto a soft, lint-free cloth rather than directly onto the mirror, so liquid doesn't seep behind the edges.
  • Painted and iron frames: wipe with a damp cloth, then dry thoroughly.
  • Gold leaf frames: dust gently with a soft dry cloth. Hand-applied gold leaf may show slight flaking with age, which is part of its natural beauty.
  • Leather frames: dust regularly and keep out of strong direct sunlight.
  • Our mirrors aren't designed for wet areas, so keep them away from showers and steam.

Mirror FAQs

What size mirror should go above a console table?

About two-thirds to three-quarters of the console's width. A 100cm round or 115 × 74cm Davos rectangle suits a 150 to 160cm console.

What size mirror should go above a sofa?

About two-thirds the width of the sofa. For a 240cm sofa, a 120cm Birchgrove or Tasman works well, or hang two matching mirrors side by side.

Do mirrors make a room look bigger?

Yes. A large mirror reflects light and views, so the room feels brighter and deeper, especially when it faces a window.

Round or rectangular mirror?

Round softens a room and contrasts with rectangular furniture. Rectangular is more versatile and fills wide walls. Choose the opposite shape to the furniture below for balance.

Can I lean a floor mirror instead of hanging it?

Yes, leaning is a relaxed, stylish look, but always secure it to the wall with a safety anchor so it can't slip or tip.

Can a mirror hang horizontally?

Many can. The Zena, Lucille, Avanti and Corfu have hooks for either orientation.

How heavy are your mirrors?

From about 5.5kg (York) to 42kg (Allegro Floor). Large statement mirrors are typically 13 to 20kg, so fix them into studs or use rated anchors.

Can I use these mirrors in a bathroom?

We recommend dry areas. A well-ventilated powder room is fine, but keep mirrors away from direct water and steam to protect the frame and silvering.

Do mirrors need assembly?

No. Our mirrors arrive fully assembled and ready to hang.
